Easter Egg Hunt

We had a wonderful time at this year's Easter Egg Hunt at Hay Castle, where we set up a hook-a-duck stall with a twist. Families who took part were invited to play along with a mapping game where they could share what they'd most love to see on the new campus.
It was a brilliant way to have a conversation with Hay residents - children and adults alike. Enthusiasm for the growing space, the swimming pool and the sports facilities came through strongly, and we're taking every response into the planning process.

Let's Get Growing: Plant swap and starter giveaway

LOCATION: COMMUNITY GROWING SPACE,
FOREST ROAD
Cultivating Learning and Nature (CLAN) hosted a plant swap at the community growing space on the HADSCAL site. They offered out a Starter Growing pack for the season, containing compost, pots, seeds and instructions.
Children's activities were offered, making it a fun day out for all the family.
Hay Market: Sharing the Plans

We bought the most recent iteration of the plans to a busy market day to share them with residents. The reception was overwhelmingly positive.
“I’m so excited about this fabulous project,” one resident told us. “This facility would be a game-changer for me.” Another described the plans as “very impressive and encouraging,” while others summed it up more simply: “Such a cool idea,” and “This will be amazing.”
Hay Summer Show

LOCATION: Hay Summer Show
Come and visit our stall at the Hay Summer Show. We'll have the plans laid out so you can get a real sense of the space, and our team will be on hand to answer questions and listen.
We'll be offering up activities for children and would love to hear your thoughts about how you would make use of the proposed campus.
We'll also be bringing a bit of traditional show-style competition with a beanbag throwing game - so come along with your best shot!
HADSCAL Open Day
DATE: Thursday 27 AUGUST, 1 - 7pm
LOCATION: THE SWAN, HAY-ON-WYE
We invited the whole community to a public open day on Thursday 27th August, 1–7pm at The Swan, to view the latest designs for Hay Community Campus, including a video to bring the plans to life.
Over 150 people came to share ideas, hopes and priorities for the site, discussing the growing space, the sports facilities, the community building and the scale of ambition. We also put on activities for children too, including a writing and drawing competition. Your feedback from the day will directly inform the final plans and help shape something that will serve Hay for generations to come.
