FAQs
How will the campus be funded long-term?
The campus has been designed with financial sustainability at its core from the very beginning. The ten business units on Forest Road are central to this; the rental income they generate will fund the ongoing running costs of the community facilities, reducing reliance on grants or public subsidy over time. This is a deliberate model: good community facilities supported by productive, eco-spec commercial space, on the same site.
Initial development costs are being funded through a combination of the £200,000 approved by Powys County Council in February 2025 and further funding bids that are being developed alongside the planning application. HADSCAL will publish more detail on the funding model as plans are finalised.
When will construction start?
We can't give a firm date yet. The planning process needs to run its course first. What we can say is that the project is moving forward actively, with architects and consultants already working on the detailed designs and surveys needed for a full planning application. Once permission is granted, the intention is to develop the site in phases.
We will update this page as key milestones are reached. The best way to stay informed is to sign up to our newsletter.
Will it affect traffic and parking on Forest Road?
This is one of the questions the planning process will examine in detail. A transport assessment will be submitted as part of the full planning application, and Powys County Council's highways team will be formally consulted. The campus will include on-site car parking with EV charging, which is designed to keep demand off the surrounding streets.
We recognise that traffic and parking are real concerns for residents near the site, and we are committed to ensuring the development has no unacceptable impact on Forest Road or the surrounding area. If you have specific concerns, please share them using the form on our Have Your Say page.
