Community Building
A home for Hay's community
The new community building will be the heart of the campus. A two-storey, eco-designed structure, it will finally give two of Hay's most valued organisations, the Youth Club and Dial-a-Ride, a permanent, purpose-built home after years of uncertainty. We're also speaking with other groups who are interested in having a space on the site.
Beyond that, the building will be a practical resource for the whole town. Rooms of varying sizes will be available to hire for meetings, events, workshops and performances. Longer-term letting for office or practice space will also be possible, offering affordable workspace in a town where it's in short supply.
Every aspect of the building will be designed to the same eco-standard as the rest of the campus: energy efficient, sustainably built, and conceived to last.
